Between 16th and 28th of December SFF-LD held two-day consultative session in each of the target districts to identify projects that are prioritized by the local community.
Before travelling to the regions for consultations, the PIU team conducted several assessments such as risk assessment of the project locations, security assessment, clan dynamics, political and governance structure. Consequently, paving the way to hold regional consultations and rolled out consultations in the following districts: Bandiradley, Galkaio, Burtinley, Garbaharey and Hudur
The consultative sessions brought together 30 participants including representative from youth, women, elders, minority groups, business community and local administration. During the Session the PIU elucidated to the participants on eligible and suitable implementation based previous projects and donor criteria/restrictions.
During the sessions in the mentioned districts, a conflict analysis and resource mapping was conducted with the participants. Furthermore, to gain understand of the situation on the ground a conflict analysis and a resource mapping exercise were held to prevent issues arising within the community and after a healthy consultations and discussions the sub-projects were prioritized by consensus group and agreed on.
